Tengam Engineering, Incorporated announced the hiring of Andrew Hirzel as its Manager of Engineering and Product Development. Tengam Engineering, founded in 1972, manufactures a wide range of injection molded bonded magnets and magnetic assemblies.
Significant growth has lead to changes within the organization. Customer investments in tooling and equipment, to support new programs that are moving towards production, are increasing at a rapid pace. Many new automotive applications, as well as the push for new green technologies, will continue to be developing for years to come.
Andrew has worked in the following areas during his career. Most recently he served as the Chief Technology Officer of Light Engineering, a technology company which develops highly efficient electric motors and generators. He also served as the president of ADH International, a consulting firm serving the magnetics industry. As Vice President of Advanced Magnetic Materials (AMM), he developed bonded magnetic materials and production facilities for the manufacturing of jet casted powders. Prior to that Andrew was the Vice President of Engineering and Development for Sinteris Magnetics Inc., a manufacturer of motor systems for the computer hard disk drive industry.
According to Mark McPherson, GM of Tengam, “Andy is coming to us with a very unique blend of talents that will help us continue to make advances in bonded magnets and their many new applications.” McPherson also commented that “Market developments have been very positive and there are many new programs in development. We are confident that this shift in technology will have a dramatic effect towards the number of bonded magnets that will be needed within the marketplace. Andy will be a great asset to Tengam.”
