OTSEGO, Michigan, February 14, 2011
Tengam Engineering, Incorporated has announced a groundbreaking ceremony on March 17, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.
17,000 square feet of additional space will be added to the current manufacturing center. This space will increase the size of the current manufacturing area and add warehousing, in-house tool room, offices and employee areas. The added floor spaces will nearly double the size of the current facility.
Mark McPherson, GM of Tengam, stated that “The increased demand for polymer bonded magnets is the driving force behind this construction project. New technologies, like electric and hybrid electric vehicles, and advanced motor technologies will be key factors in business development over the next decade.” McPherson also commented that “Most importantly, the construction project means that we will be creating jobs in Otsego. We have increased employment by 50% in the last 12 months and will continue to increase this number during the construction phase. The current staff of 33 will grow to 40-45 by the end of this year and projections of 60-80 by the end of 2013. We will also be focusing on contracting with as many local construction companies as possible to complete this project. We are very excited about the future of Tengam and what it will bring to Otsego and Southwest Michigan.”
